The Promise I Refuse to Break

I’ve always promised myself that I would never compromise the integrity of my work or the quality of materials I use just to make a larger profit.

Now, is this the best business model financially? Probably not. But it’s a model that I am proud of and feel comfortable stamping my name on. Not only is the quality of my work important to me, but your experience is also important to me, which is why Good Hound has branded bags, stickers, wraps and info cards - all of which we have intentionally made as eco-friendly as possible.

From our new cushioned mailers, which are made of 100% recycled paper, to our eco-friendly, organic cotton, 100% biodegradable hand-stamped bags (reuse it as a treat bag!), our business cards made from recycled T-shirt fabric, our individually letterpressed wraps made locally using an antique press from @bayviewprintingco, to our woven tags made with a minimum of 50% recycled yarn. All of this costs a bit more, but it matters. Quality over quantity.

Full transparency: as a small business owner, this model can be a little intimidating at times because while I care so deeply about the integrity of my work, I am often reminded that I also need to make a fair living. So much heart + soul + energy goes into Good Hound Company, so I thank you for your continued support that allows me to continue doing what I love and run my business in a way I can be proud of way without having to break a promise to myself (while ALSO continuing to give back to dogs in need). So, thank you, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Does getting excited about new packaging mean I am officially an adult?! Ah, the little things ☺️

Good Hound Company was founded in 2017 by Brit Kruesel while she was living in her quaint, one-bedroom apartment above a pub in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Started with pets, their owners and sustainability in mind, many of Good Hound Company’s goods are made from recycled or vintage materials, including our packaging which is made from 100% recycled material. Good Hound Company contributes directly to supporting local dog rescue + protection organizations through advocacy efforts and by providing them with vital funding for the ongoing care of animals in need. We’re driven by community and often team up with small businesses we love and other-like minded individuals. It is our goal to invest back into the community that has given us so much support.
