Brit Matyas launched Good Hound in 2017 while living in her quaint one-bedroom apartment above a tavern on the outskirts of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Brit’s dog (and best friend), Milo, is the face of the company and has been named employee of the month, every month, for the past seven years. Great job, Milo!
Good Hound is a purpose-driven company, focused on creating quality goods for dogs and their humans, with the community and planet in mind. Our small batch goods have an understated timeless aesthetic - designed to serve as a staple today, tomorrow and for years to come. We enjoy simplicity and believe classic is best.
While many of our goods are made or designed by Brit, we often collaborate with local artists and like-minded makers as a way to invest back into the community that has given us so much support. In addition to collaborating with local artists, Good Hound is committed to sustainable practices and conscious business decisions. We make sure the small businesses we work with share a similar mindset. We take pride in the quality of our goods and feel it’s important to source textiles that are free of harmful chemicals, including those not yet regulated. This may cost more, but it’s worth it.
